Annual report for 2003
2003 was the first year of operation for the ČSOB Pojišťovna insurance company under the new trade name after the merger of the former IPB Pojišťovna and ČSOB Pojišťovna insurance companies. There was also a significant change in the structure of the stockholders following the purchase by the KBC Verzekeringen N.V. insurance company of 75 percent of ČSOB Pojišťovna stock in April 2003. As a result, the direct connection to the KBC parent group was strengthened.
Last year’s efforts were especially focused on the successful termination of the merger process, the restoration of dynamic growth in specified insurance premiums and the development of banking and insurance activities reinforcing co-operation with the ČSOB bank sister company and other financial group members.

The ČSOB Pojišťovna insurance company, which originated from the merger of the IPB Pojišťovna, a.s. insurance company and the ČSOB Pojišťovna, a.s. insurance company in January 2003, is a universal insurance company ready to implement services to large corporate companies, small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs, including the public, and to offer a number of solutions in the area of life and property-casualty insurance and other financial services. The wide choice of ČSOB Pojišťovna insurance products and the option to combine these with other ČSOB Group financial services enable clients to receive a comprehensive treatment of their financial needs on suitable terms.
